Dr. Rüştü Serter was born in Konya in 1962. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. He completed his specialization in Internal Diseases in Ankara Training and Research Hospital in 1991 and then specialized in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases and became an associate professor in this branch in 1996. After working as Deputy Chief of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases Clinic of Ankara Training and Research Hospital, Internal Medicine Clinic Chief at Ankara Oncology Training and Research Hospital, he worked as Chief of Internal Medicine Clinic at Ankara Training and Research Hospital. He has been working at Fulya Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul since 2010, and he is also a faculty member in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine.
He is married and has two children. Serter speaks English and German. International Diabetes Federation (IDF); European Society of Endocrinology (ESE); European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), Mediterranean Group for the Study of Diabetes (MGSD); Turkey Endocrinology and Metabolism Association; Obesity, Nutrition and Diabetes Association; National Nutrition Platform Association; Turkey Diabetes Foundation Board of Trustees; He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Obesity Foundation and he has many national and international articles and book chapters, as well as two published books on obesity and metabolic syndrome.
