Prof. Dr. Altan A. Özcan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine with a degree in 1993, completed his specialty education at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology in 1999 and became an ophthalmology specialist. After receiving his expertise, he worked in the Eye Clinic of Giessen University in Germany in 2000, returned to Çukurova University in 2001 and became Associate Professor in 2005 and Professor in 2011 after his ongoing studies.
He is a member of international AAO, ASCRS, ESCRS, EGS associations. Özcan is also an active member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association Cataract and Refractive Unit Executive Board and Glaucoma Unit. Dr. Özcan's interests are; cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, cornea and oculoplastic surgery. He is also trained in the treatment of ocular trauma, strabismus, medical retina and vitreoretinal diseases and performs operations. Since 2014, Dr. Özcan has been a member of the International Journal of Ophthalmology & Eye Science (IJOES); Since 2015, he has been a member of the Editorial Board of Çukurova University Archives Review Review Journal. He has many scientific articles published in national and international journals, and author of book chapters. Professor Özcan, who has served as a referee in many national and international journals in the field of ophthalmology, has also made many presentations at national and international congresses and has a good command of English and German.
