I ended my academic life at Ege University Faculty of Medicine on February 15, 2019, at the end of 27 years, by deciding to retire. My need for more health, peace and freedom are the top three reasons why I made this very difficult decision. My practice, which we open today, will be my place where I will continue my next professional life, the route of my ophthalmology, and my principles known until today.
A healthy and peaceful professional life is the right of every employee. Since the only place where you set the rules is the practice, there has been a significant increase in the number of physicians' transition to self-employment in recent years. This number will increase even more, we will see it all together. The World Health Organization states that the ideal examination time should be 20 minutes in the 'Good Medicine' practice. Today, none of the SGK contracted institutions can afford to allocate this time, neither in public nor in private. In addition, the physician to the patient; Practice is the only place where the patient's right to choose a physician is reflected in practice. An important part of the physician-patient relationship is that there is time left for the patient and physician not only for medical but also for humanitarian conversation.
