Prof. Dr. Murat Duman was born in Erzurum in 1970, graduated from İzmir Eşrefpaşa High School as a single and won the Ege University Faculty of Medicine. Graduated in 1992, after completing his compulsory service at Salihli State Hospital,
Between 1993-1998, he specialized in Child Health and Diseases at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine.
Between 1998-2002, he received minor training in Pediatric Hematology at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine.
In 2002, he worked as an observer in the pediatric emergency department of the Harvard Children's Hospital in Boston, USA for 2 months, and then made important contributions to the Pediatric Emergency structure in Turkey. In 2006, he established the Pediatric Emergency Department in Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, for the first time in Turkey. He received his Pediatric Emergency Minor Specialization in 2009. He served as the chairman of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Association between 2018-2021. He organized many courses in Turkey as the coordinator of Advanced Life Support Courses for Children. American Heart Association (AHA) internationally certified PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) courses instructor.
He became Associate Professor of Child Health and Diseases in 2005 and Professor in 2010. Since 2018, he has been the head of the Department of Child Health and Diseases at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine for 2 terms.
He has over 100 articles and 700 citations that have been published in international and national prestigious journals. He also has books, book chapter authorship, conferences and session chairs, project management and awards.
Prof. Dr. Murat Duman still continues to work both in Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine Children's Hospital and in his private practice.
